Today, as the world gathers for the awarding of the 2024 Nobel Prize, the Johns Hopkins RNA Innovation Center proudly celebrates the transformative potential of RNA therapeutics. We applaud Victor Ambros and Gary Ruvkun for their groundbreaking discovery of microRNAs and its pivotal role in gene regulation.

We also take immense pride in congratulating our esteemed steering committee member, Katalin Karikó, for her 2023 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Her work in nucleoside base modifications, in collaboration with Drew Weissman, was instrumental in pioneering mRNA-based vaccines, responsible for saving millions of lives during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Together, these visionaries remind us of the vast potential of RNA research that continues to drive innovation and redefine possibilities in human health. Congratulations to all the Nobel laureates, your work serves as a beacon for the future!
